The team (all of it)
amillionmonkeys is mostly me — Phil Smith. I've been building for the web for nearly twenty years, including stints on projects for the BBC, Bupa and Airbnb. We've tried being bigger; it didn't suit us.
What that means for you: when you email, I reply. When something breaks at an awkward hour, the person fixing it is the person who built it. And there's no B-team, because there's only the one team.
The robot-assisted bit
Since 2025 we've rebuilt how the studio works around AI tooling. The honest numbers: projects that took twelve weeks now take eight, and average costs are down about 30%. That's not a sales line — it's why a one-person studio can ship what we ship.
