The Challenge

Traact Nutrition set out with a bold mission: to deliver the best nutrition tracking experience available, helping users reach peak physical performance. The founders, though experts in fitness with over 30 years of experience, had no background in building software products. They had a great idea but needed technical expertise to bring it to life.

The challenge was to build a user-friendly platform that could tailor nutrition tracking to individual needs, from elite athletes to everyday users. Traact needed to calculate users’ macros accurately, accommodate various dietary preferences, and make food planning, tracking, and management as simple as possible.

Our Approach

We began by creating a prototype, working closely with the founders to test various formulas for calculating users' macros. This initial phase allowed us to refine the core functionality and ensure it met the needs of a diverse range of users, including those with specialized diets such as vegan, vegetarian, or pescatarian.

Once the formulas were perfected, we moved on to building the full application. The API was developed using Laravel, providing a solid backend infrastructure to manage user data and calculations efficiently. The mobile app was built with React Native, offering a seamless experience across both iOS and Android devices.

Throughout the development process, our focus was on keeping the app simple and intuitive, despite its powerful functionality. Traact had to serve users with varying levels of fitness knowledge, from professional athletes to individuals just beginning their fitness journey.

The Results

The result is an easy-to-use app that allows users to track their nutrition, manage their macros, and tailor their diet to their personal needs. The app has proven to be a game-changer, particularly for elite athletes who rely on precise nutrition to reach peak performance.
